PALM BEACH SHORES, Fla. — September 25 is National Day of Remembrance and people in Palm Beach Shores gathered to honor the memory of their loved ones lost to murder.
The memorial event was organized by Palm Beach County Victims Services.
Attendees were encouraged to bring photos of their loved ones.
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement reported 27 murders in West Palm Beach in 2018, one of them was 17-year-old Malik Williams who was shot and killed last November. His grandfather, James Solomon says the pain of the loss is still fresh.
“Sometimes I just walk through the house crying, I just miss him, I miss him real bad, “ says Solomon. West Palm Beach Police Say Williams’ case is still open and active.
