A West Palm Beach police officer was injured in a crash when on route to a missing endangered 6-year-old Monday night.
Officials say the officer stopped the marked police car at a traffic light at Okeechobee Blvd and Congress Ave., heading westbound. After stopping at the red light, the officer proceeded through the intersection with the lights and siren activated.
According to West Palm Beach Police Department Spokesperson Lori Colombino, a man driving a silver truck traveling south on Congress Avenue failed to yield and struck the police cruiser. A woman driving a black SUV following the truck, struck the truck.
The officer and the driver of the SUV were transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The driver of the truck was not transported to the hospital.
The missing endangered child was found safe.
