The Palm Beach County School Board has appointed two assistant school police chiefs to the district's police department.
According to the department, Regina Price and Dennis Weiner will report directly to School Police Chief Frank Kitzerow.
"We are working toward setting the benchmark for school-based policing in the United States," said Kitzerow. "We should be setting the model for other school police departments to follow."
The department has hired more than 50 officers since the new chief took the helm in July.
