PALM BEACH SHORES, Fla. — Palm Beach Shores residents are expressing concerns on a proposal to change their current police force.

Due to budget changes, the town is considering merging their current police force with the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office.

Town Commission held a public meeting Monday evening for people to understand what PBSO has to offer.

The merger would affect their current officers in blue.

"We're not leaving, the officers that were here before if this plan is accepted will be here again just in a different color uniform. And if we don't merge with the sheriff, we'll still be here. we're not going anywhere. we love it here," said Palm Beach Shores Police Chief Steve Langevin.

Palm Beach Shores plans to use feedback from the community to than decide as a commission whether or not to negotiate contract with PBSO.

So far, no timeline on when that decision will be made.
