WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — An adolescent male injured at a water park inside Okeecheelee Park on Monday evening was released Tuesday, the company that owns the course said.
“We are pleased to share that the injured wakeboarder has been discharged from the hospital and is in good health,” Greg Norman Jr., founder of Shark Wake Park 561 in suburban West Palm Beach, said in a statement.
The course will reopen Wednesday, he said.
“He expressed his excitement to return to the park to start wakeboarding again as soon as possible," Norman said. "Following our state certified inspection procedures, Shark Wake Park continues to pass all safety checklists.”
The incident happened at 6:26 p.m. at the Shark Wake Park.
Firefighters say the patient, an adolescent male, was transported by Trauma Hawk to a local area trauma hospital for treatment.
