WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — West Palm Beach police arrested a 64-year-old man in connection with the double shooting of his wife's two adult children Monday afternoon.
The shooting happened at around 3:30 p.m. on West Lakewood Road in southern West Palm Beach.
Officials said the incident was domestic-related and all the parties involved reside in the same home.
According to a news release, 64-year-old Narvin Green shot his wife's children, two 25-year-olds. Police said Green is not the father of the victims.
One of the victims, a man, was shot on the face and shoulder when he was sleeping in his bedroom. The other victim, a woman, was shot in the chest and hand as she slept on the living room couch.
The victims described to police they were awakened by a burning sensation to the areas injured. The female victim said she saw Green flee the home after she was shot.
They were both transported to a local hospital with injuries described as not life threatening.
Green called police to surrender and was apprehended without incident in the 7000 block of South Dixie Hwy. He was charged with attempted first-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
According to a witness, Green had previously made verbal threats to harm the entire family.
Green was booked at the Palm Beach County Jail.
