Protestors rallied in response to the Palm Beach County police union paying for the criminal defense of the officer charged in the death of Corey Jones.

Members of the Fort Lauderdale Chapter of Black Lives Matter joined local protestors outside the Palm Beach County Police Benevolent Association.

Officer Nouman Raja faces manslaughter and attempted murder charges in the death of Corey Jones.

Organizers of the rally are also outraged the defense is asking for relaxation of Raja's house arrest.

"Why is someone who is not facing a third degree felony a life felony why is he working where hes working he's already got relaxation he gets to go home and see his family. Corey Jones doesn't have that ability," says Jones' childhood friend Michael Marsh.

A hearing is scheduled on Raja's house arrest in the coming months.
