One man was transported to a local hospital after being shot during an attempted robbery in West Palm Beach early Saturday morning.

The incident happened shortly after midnight along the 400 block of Hunter St.

Officials say two men told police they were riding their bicycles home from work when a car stopped next to them. At least one man exited the vehicle and and demanded money from the cyclists. The victims fled and were shot at.

According to West Palm Beach Police Department Spokesperson Lori Colombino, one victim sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound and was transported to St. Mary's Medical Center.

The second victim was not injured, said Colombino.

Detectives are seeking witnesses.
