WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (AP) — A West Palm Beach man has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for a fatal drug deal.
The Palm Beach Post reports that 24-year-old Devone Robinson pleaded guilty last week to second-degree murder and attempted robbery as part of a deal with prosecutors.
Authorities say 26-year-old Ojey Meeks had arranged to buy marijuana in Riviera Beach in April 2017, but two men tried to rob him. Detectives believe Meeks shot at the two men, and they returned fire, fatally striking Meeks in the head.
Robinson is the only person to be prosecuted in the case.
