There was a frenzy of police activity throughout West Palm Beach on Tuesday night. But the police weren't chasing bad guys. Instead, they turned into Santa's elves delivering Christmas presents.

"We have more gifts to give out than ever. This makes us just as happy as it does the children," Officer Rick Moore said.

Swarms of children ran to the officers to get gifts in various neighborhood.

Police also surprised police explorer Jessica Marquez and her family.

"It feels good. I really can't explain how I feel right now. I'm just shocked," Marquez said.

Yesenia Diaz's family was also surprised with Christmas gifts and a Christmas dinner.

"They brought smiles to my babies. I'm so grateful and so thankful," Diaz said.

Diaz's family was burglarized and all the children's Christmas presents were stolen.

West Palm Beach police brought the family presents and brought smiles to their faces.

"God Bless them all. They made our Christmas," Diaz said.

Police spokeswoman Lori Colombino organized the night of giving. She says she received more donations and support than in past years.
