Commissioners in West Palm Beach will take one final vote Monday to decide whether or not they should get a raise. If approved, Mayor Jeri Muoio and commissioner would get a bump in pay.
The proposal would raise Muoio's salary to $150,000, a $25,000 increase. The city points out Muoio is a strong mayor, that means the job of the mayor is a full time job. The mayor is the city CEO, responsible for overseeing all the daily operations of the city.
The commission is also voting on whether they should get raises from $30,000 to $35,000 a year.

How Do Their Salaries Compare To Others?
“It's a matter of looking back at what's been done,” city administrator Jeff Green said. “It has been 11 years, I mean, you can make the argument that 11 years is a long time to not make an adjustment to salaries, given how expensive it is to live here.”
Earlier this month the commission was split on the decision. Commissioners Shanon Materio and Paula Ryan voted against the raises.
According to the city, if the change is approved, the prorated impact on this year's budget will be $44,423, and the annual change will be $82,500 including benefits.
