A Martin County man is accused of driving under the influence after crashing into a hearse Saturday in Indian River County, according to Fellsmere police.
Timothy Young, 60, of Jensen Beach collided with the hearse around 5 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of N. Willow Street and New York Avenue in Fellsmere, police said.
Both drivers were hospitalized.
The driver of the hearse was treated and released, according to police.
Officers interviewed Young after he received medical care. They said he admitted drinking alcohol between 1 and 4 p.m. and was trying to find I-95 to go home.
Police said he refused to perform any field sobriety tests.
They charged him with driving under the influence and causing a crash with property damage and injuries.
