FELLSMERE, Fla. — At least one person was killed in an overnight crash on Interstate 95 in Indian River County, closing all northbound lanes much of the morning.
The wreck occurred at about 4:55 a.m. Friday at Mile Marker 159 near Fellsmere.
Troopers said an SUV traveling southbound on I-95 crossed the center median and entered the northbound lanes.
As the SUV entered those lanes, it was struck by a tractor trailer.
All four people in the SUV were ejected, according to troopers.
The Florida Highway Patrol said 20-year-old Shatiba K. Delhall died at the scene, and three other people in the SUV suffered serious injuries.
Fellsmere police said northbound I-95 reopened around 11:45 a.m.
FHP has reopened northbound I-95 at the 159 mile marker. Traffic will no longer divert through Fellsmere.
