When students return to class in Indian River County, some schools will have new dress codes.

The school board approved changes to the dress code for Sebastian River Middle School, Sebastian River High School and Vero Beach High School at a June board meeting.

Those changes were recommended by the Student Code of Conduct Committee.

The district says there are several significant changes.

One of those changes says students cannot wear clothing or accessories with words or graphics. Their shirts however can have a small logo, 2 inches x 2 inches.

Students also cannot wear clothing that is sheer, net or mesh. Sleepwear items and pajamas are not allowed. Leggings and jeggings are also against the dress code.
