VERO BEACH, Fla. — A new emergency room is open on the Treasure Coast.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held Tuesday evening for Lawnwood Regional Medical Center's new free-standing emergency room in Vero Beach.
The $10 million facility features a dozen beds, along with X-ray and CT Scan capabilities.
Another benefit is getting people the care they need closer to home.
The facility is located at 660 U.S. 1 in Vero Beach at the site of the former Quilted Giraffe restaurant.
