SEBASTIAN, Fla. — Sebastian police say a motorcyclist who sped away from officers over the weekend crashed and died.
According to the Sebastian Police Department, an officer spotted 45-year-old Timothy Left speeding on a red motorcycle around 2 a.m. on March 23 in the 1600 block of U.S. 1.
The officer wasn't able to catch Left because of his speed, police said.
A second officer also spotted Left speeding in the area of Laconia Street and Tulip Drive but was also unable to catch him.
Police said Left eventually lost control and crashed in the area of Barber Street and Nebraska Circle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officers said Left was operating the motorcycle on a suspended license and without a motorcycle endorsement.
The crash is still under investigation.
