Police said the crane was contracted to install pilings for a dock being built on a vacant lot at 13 Dolphin Drive when the right tire on the heavy machinery hit a septic tank causing the crane to tip over.

The crane's boom hit the east side of the home at 11 Dolphin Drive and caused extensive damage to the roof and back porch, police said.

Authorities say there were no injuries and the house was not occupied at the time.
