VERO BEACH, Fla. — Indian River Cares is seeking handmade crafts to help bring a smile to local seniors. Handmade cards, paintings, or crafts of any kind are being requested for seniors living in local facilities.

Through the group's Connected for Seniors Program, launched in August, more than 2,000 handmade crafts or “room brighteners” have been delivered to the elderly.

So far, Indian River Cares has partnered with local schools, businesses and the public library to help make crafts.

To donate a room brightener, drop it off at the Environmental Learning Center’s entry pavilion in Vero Beach.

Drop off hours are between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., seven days a week.

Please list your contact information, name, email, phone number when dropping off your room brightener to receive a thank you note from the organization.
