The Martin County Sheriff's Office said Wednesday they have arrested a person in connection with a home invasion and armed robbery last month on Jupiter Island.
The sheriff's office said the person arrested in the case, which happened Jan. 20, was also wanted in a homicide.
He was identified as 23-year-old Markell Brown from Broward County.
He was picked up there by Martin County detectives working with Lauderhill police, the Broward County Sheriff's Office and US Marshals.
The sheriff's office says he was seen on surveillance video getting into the home through an open door.
"This was an extremely disturbing crime. Nothing more serious short of murder than to go into someone's house in the middle of the night, get them on the floor at gunpoint, and take their property. Can't imagine the fear those people had," Sheriff William Snyder said.
BREAKING: MCSO makes arrest in Jupiter Island home invasion/armed robbery Jan 20. Suspect is also wanted for murder. Sheriff Snyder will have press availability at 3:30pm at Sheriff’s Office.
