PALM CITY, Fla. — A 100th birthday celebration for a World War II veteran was held Saturday in Palm City.

The WWII Navy veteran, who served six and a half years as a first class radio operator, is known to many as "Ski."

After the war, he went to Rutgers University for electrical engineering and after that spent 30 years working for the Army in research and development.

"When people do something for me, I appreciate that very much," Wrublewski said. "Because I know it takes time, it takes effort and it shows me how wonderful people are."

When asked what his key was to living a long life, he said to treat your body well and not to drink.
