STUART, Fla. — Seven people were taken to the hospital on Wednesday following a five-vehicle wreck on Interstate 95 southbound in Martin County.

The Florida Highway Patrol said the crash happened in the area of mile marker 98 between Kanner Highway and Bridge Highway in Stuart.

Aerial video from WPTV Chopper 5 showed multiple cars involved, and at least one of them flipped over.

Martin County Fire Rescue said crews responded to the wreck just before 7 a.m.

According to the FHP, two vehicles were going northbound and three were going southbound. One of the cars lost control, triggering a chain-reaction crash in both directions.

Seven people were taken to three local hospitals. Three people are in serious condition and four have minor injuries, according to Fire Rescue.

All southbound lanes of I-95 reopened at approximately 8:45 a.m.
