STUART, Fla. — A couple appropriately named Mary and Joseph delivered a Christmas surprise to a homeless mother in Stuart.
On Monday afternoon, Mary Nash and Joseph Gary Zingo surprised Ashley Harrison by donating a car to her.
Harrison has been living at Mary’s Shelter of the Treasure Coast in Stuart for the last two months. The shelter is for pregnant women. Harrison just gave birth to a baby boy six weeks ago.
"This is the best blessing of my entire life," Harrison said after seeing the white 2003 Hyundai Sante Fe with a big red bow on the hood.
“We've been so blessed with everything," said Mary Nash. "We just wanted to do something nice for someone. I really didn’t think it was that big of a deal."
Harrison, overcome with emotion, hugged the couple when they told her about the car.
"I just hope she enjoys it and has good luck with it," said Nash.
