STUART, Fla-- There are 10,000 veterans living in Martin County and on Veterans Day, a red, white and blue symbol of America is now flying proudly in a new place.
The staff at the Elliott Museum wanted an American flag on its property in Stuart, so Martin County Commissioner Doug Smith led the effort for a flag to grace the museum's new flagpole.
This is the 27th version of the American flag since the first one debuted in 1777.
