A Stuart family is devastated after a horrific crash on I-95 this weekend kills 6.

It happened on Saturday on I-95 Southbound - just North of the Indiantown Road exit.

Investigators say a tire on the van the family was riding in separated, sending the van into a wall, and then into another car.

Six people - including 2 teens and 2 children -  died in the crash.

The mother of those minors and her other daughter survived.

Family and friends gathered Monday at a memorial set up for the victims.

They say the loss is almost too much to bear.

The grandmother of the kids, Cresanta Perez, spoke to NewsChannel 5 through a translator.

“The kids were very sweet, very honest, they were very loving,” she says. “The mother was very nurturing. Where her kids were at, she would always be there.”

She says right now, her daughter is devastated.

“Right now she feels lonely. She lost her 4 kids. She still feels an emptiness in her heart that’s going to take time to heal.”

Florida Highway Patrol says the investigation into the crash is still ongoing.

The family says they are looking for help with funeral expenses.
