Not enough space in Martin County? Fair managers say it's time to move after another successful year at the county fair.
Organizers say 50,000 to 60,000 people came to the fair this year, bringing in millions of dollars.
Manager Jay Spicer says they've outgrown the 12-acre lot. Traffic and parking issues continue to be a problem as well. He would like to see the fair move closer to Interstate 95 to attract more guests and bring in even more money.
"Way overgrown. So we need more elbow room. We can't have a big midway. We don't have monster truck rallies. I don't have any courses or equestrian events. I don't have any room for it," says Jay Spicer.
Relocation is an idea some agree with it.
"There's no reason for out of town people to come see our fair because their fair is so much bigger," says Wendy Burg of Palm City.
Others enjoy the current location off Dixie Highway.
"Close, it's in town. In a place everyone can get too," says Manny Lugo of Stuart.
Spicer says he plans on talking with county commissioners about a move in the near future.
