"It makes us sick, sometimes we can't go to work," he said.

Conway is the Managing Editor of Florida Sportsman Magazine. He and other employees are back at their office after having to pack up shop when blue/green algae layered the water outside.

"We're just hoping it doesn't come back here but it's other places too," Conway said.

After seeing first hand the impacts of the green gunk like fatigue and nausea. He and other community members are pushing for change.

This afternoon voters in this area who are sick of the blue-green mess spoke up at a roundtable discussion with U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson.

"This is not going to happen over night to solve this problem when in fact the problem has been created over a very long period of time," Nelson said.
