A man who worked for a Jupiter doctor is under arrest in connection with his death, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office.

Dr. Ronald Schwartz was shot to death at his home on Mockingbird Trail in July.

Deputies made the discovery after one of the physician’s friends asked them to do a welfare check.

Saul Lopez, 27, of Miami, was arrested on Dec. 27.

Investigators say Lopez worked for the doctor prior to his death.

They say cash, jewelry and firearms were stolen from Schwartz’s house and they found some of the stolen property at Lopez's Miami home.

He has been charged with armed robbery and first degree murder, according to the sheriff's office.

He's currently being held at the Palm Beach County Jail.

The sheriff's office says Lopez implicated himself and a second person.

That person apparently fled the country.

Detectives are working with the federal government to try and get him extradited to the United States.
