The Jupiter community rallied to make sure no child at Jupiter Elementary School goes without a gift this Christmas.

The Palm Beach County School District says it learned Wednesday that Toys for Tots was going to fall short in donations for Jupiter Elementary students. So school leaders and the community came together and raised $6,000 in three hours to buy enough gifts for those kids.

Thursday morning, a group will gather at Walmart in Jupiter to shop for those gifts and get them to the students before they head home for winter break.

The school, located at 200 S. Loxahatchee Dr., is also accepting donations of new toys until 10 a.m.
