Harbourside Place in Jupiter has filed a lawsuit against the town seeking to change the current regulations on the entertainment district.
Tuesday night there was a town council meeting to vote on restrictions for outdoor music, where the ordinance passed 4 to 1 on the first reading with the request of further clarification on technical parts of the code. A second reading will occur next month.
Harbourside Place representatives say they've been cooperating with the town for more than a decade but say enough is enough.
A statement released by a spokesperson says the town clearly intended for Harbourside Place to be the one and only entertainment district along the riverwalk.
A spokesperson for Harbourside Place says the venue was required to host a minimum of regular events at the outdoor amphitheater not maximum.
Once Harbourside Place's amphitheater was up and running, complaints flooded in from area residents who say the music was just too loud.
Harbourside Place has decreased the number of live concerts every week from 5 to 3.
Several measures were also taken to contain the sound from traveling across the Intracoastal Waterway into surrounding neighborhoods.
