JUPITER, Fla. — A teenage boy was taken to a hospital in critical condition after being pulled from the water Sunday near Sawfish Bay Park in Jupiter.
Palm Beach County Fire Rescue Capt. Albert Borroto said crews were called to reports of a missing swimmer shortly after 4 p.m.
First arriving firefighters were told by bystanders and family members that the victim was in the water and had disappeared.
Rescue divers immediately searched the water near the last known location of the teen.
Multiple agencies, including Palm Beach County Fire Rescue, Jupiter police, the Florida FIsh and Wildlife Conservation Commission and the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office participated in the search.
Divers located the victim and brought him to shore to waiting paramedics.
