Bomb threat unfounded at Jupiter High School

Jupiter police have lifted the lockdown on Jupiter High School.

Classes have resumed and the school day will continue as scheduled.

The Palm Beach County School District says it received a bomb threat via email. Police responded and swept the entire school looking for anything suspicious.

The students were transferred to the neighboring community center during the lockdown. Police later found the bomb threat to be unfounded.

Many parents were visibly angry with how the police and school district handled the situation. Some parents say they were receiving conflicting messages about picking up their children.

One parent said, "This was ridiculous. They didn't have any idea how to deal with something like this and now they are telling us they want our kids to go back to school and we aren't sure it's safe."

The school district says its top priority was keeping the students safe. The district sent robo calls informing parents and several tweets letting them know the students were safe.
