Eric Hunter and his buddy (and boss) Heath West are genuinely the two nicest men in radio. They are the local faces of Wave 92.7 (WAVW-FM) the Treasure Coast's top-rated station. When they see you, they have a hearty handshake, a smile, and are authentically glad you are there.
The only thing that can get the country duo cranky is a rare technical glitch like dead-air. They run and treat their station like an expensive classic muscle car. Always spit-shining and fine-tuning.
Heath and Eric have big city standards with down-home charm. Now the guys are bringing their good-ole-boy country personalities to a station servicing West Palm Beach, Fla., called Wave 93.3 (on the air as of Monday).
It's a small signal, with superior craftsmanship, covering Palm Beach International Airport, up to Juno Beach, over to Jupiter's Abacoa Town Center, and west out to Ibis Golf Course (the fringe signal goes out a bit further).
In the Palm Beaches, Eric will do the afternoon shift and Heath will be the midday personality (opposite from the Treasure Coast version of the station).
Heath, the father of twin boys, told me, "we’re really pumped. Right now, [we're playing] a ton of music, so we’d love to have folks check out what we’re doing!"
