NORTH PALM BEACH, Fla. -- A boat with 3 people on board capsized Saturday about 3 miles off the coast of John D. MacArthur State Park.
A group of fishermen nearby rushed to help save the men and it was all caught on camera.
The fishermen are based on Hutchinson Island but this morning decided they would head about an hour south to fish and they say they are just happy their decision could help others in need.
Cell phone video shows one person standing on a capsized boat while two others are hanging on to life vests in the water. Once those on board the vessel saw what was happening they rushed over to help, giving them more life vests, warm clothes once on board and a ride back to shore.
One of the fishermen, Jonathan Kranker, said, "They just said that they were taking on water and within 5 minutes the boat flipped and they were taking on water and they said it was their first time taking out the boat - so I mean, that stinks."
Another fisherman, Taylor DeFusco, said, "There was a couple boats honestly that that could have helped them and they drove by so my advice is to anyone if you see anyone in distress I would give them a hand because that’s all that we would want if that happened to us."
The U.S. Coast Guard says Sea Tow was able to bring the boat back to land and confirms everyone is okay.
