Palm Beach Gardens woman wins $2 million playing Florida Lottery scratch off

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. — A Palm Beach Gardens woman is having an extra joyous holiday season after cashing in big by playing the Florida Lottery.

The lottery announced in a news release Thursday that Luu Dang, 39, of Palm Beach Gardens, claimed a top prize in the "$2,000,000 CASHWORD Scratch-Off" at lottery headquarters in Tallahassee.

Dang chose to receive her winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $1.6 million.

She purchased the winning ticket from a Publix located at 7050 Seminole Pratt-Whitney Rd. in Loxahatchee. The retailer will receive a $4,000 bonus commission for selling the winning ticket.

The odds of winning the grand prize in this $10 scratch-off game is 1 in 2,840,000.

Dang declined the opportunity to take a photo after claiming her prize.
