A 60-year-old Loxahatchee woman was killed near Palm Beach Gardens after she was hit by a 17-year-old driving a sport-utility vehicle that was reportedly stolen Wednesday night.
At about 7:30 p.m., the Palm Beach Gardens Police Department said they were assisting the Jupiter police in a search for a vehicle that was stolen from a Chevron at A1A and Indiantown Road in Jupiter.
That SUV had a gun inside, according to police.
New surveillance video obtained by WPTV on Thursday shows a white car pull up to an unoccupied 2015 Acura MDX at that gas station.
You can see a person get out of the white car, get into the MDX, and drive away.
Palm Beach Gardens police said stop sticks were deployed on the Beeline Highway, more than a half mile north of Northlake Boulevard, in an attempt to stop the stolen SUV.
Debora Eber, 60, of Loxahatchee was driving a 2016 Chevrolet Malibu westbound on Northlake Boulevard, approaching the intersection of Beeline Highway.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office said Eber attempted to drive through the intersection. However, the MDX failed to stop for a red traffic light, colliding with Eber's Malibu.
During the crash, the front of the MDX hit the passenger side of the Malibu.
As a result of the wreck, Eber was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene at 7:39 p.m.
The driver of the MDX, a 17-year-old from Loxahatchee, suffered serious injuries. A 14-year-old passenger in the MDX suffered minor injuries.
The PBSO report says charges are pending in the case.
