PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. — Kathi Bischoff says her son, Marine Samuel Griffith, was on his third deployment.
"He gave me a hug like he didn't want to let go. He just held me for so long and that was the last time I saw him. While in Afghanistan, he came under enemy fire. "He actually kind of put his head up to locate where the firing was coming from and a sniper he took a bullet into his face. It killed him instantly."
Kathi says the organization Believe With Me helped with food and Christmas gifts for her grandchildren.
On the Fourth of July, the organization is hosting its annual race, "Freedom 4 Miler," in Tequesta to raise funds for a house for the family of fallen hero Brendon Sandburg.
Lyette Reback, founder of Believe With Me said, "Their son was killed in a helicopter training accident. And after the death of their son they lost their business and their home. While we can't bring back their son and I can't restore their business, I believe that as a community we can all come together."
