Okeechobee residents were out early assessing damage Monday morning.
At Taylor Creek RV Resort a boat marina was destroyed and boats wrecked. However most of the mobile homes escaped with minimal damage.
The RV park was a big concern along Lake Okeechobee.
County leaders encouraged those residents to evacuate, but many stuck around.
That included Alexander Jenkins.
He stayed in a bath house during the storm and was happy to see his home still intact.
"Doing okay. When I woke up I was thinking my trailer is gone which I expected, but my shed is blown away. The trailer seemed to survive," said Jenkins.
Street lights were found hanging low or on the road on 441 in Okeechobee and there was major flooding in some shopping plazas heading into town.
