A man who worked with prisoners could soon become one.
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement said it has arrested a correctional officer with Okeechobee Correctional Institution.
Agents detained 29-year-old Jeremiah Payne Thursday. They say he faces charges of bribery, possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana under 20 grams and attempted introduction of contraband into a correctional facility.
Over a year's time, Payne received cash and synthetic marijuana to bring in contraband to the facility, FDLE said.
Payne was booked into the Okeechobee County Jail Thursday evening.
