OKEECHOBEE COUNTY, Fla. — Summer vacations are fun, but they can be a lot of work.
There's packing and long flights, which is why a lot of people sometimes feel like they need a vacation from their vacation.
But if you're looking for a staycation, head northwest of West Palm Beach and you'll find Okeechobee KOA Resort -- a staycation camping spot.
It's a place where you can gather up the kids and put away the technology.
"It's a family atmosphere and we love to see families get out and recreate," said Wendy Woodman with Okeechobee KOA Resort. "On the weekends, we do crafts for kids, games, cookouts, pool music which is very popular."
And if you think camping means pitching a tent and sleeping on the soggy ground, you are wrong. The resort has cozy cabins with big screen televisions.
"We like to consider ourselves a country club atmosphere, but we are an RV resort," said Woodman.
The resort also has two swimming pools, a nine-hole golf course, fitness center and tennis courts.
So, if you want to unplug and are looking for a digital-detox vacation, head to the Okeechobee KOA Resort where nature meets a little luxury.
