A 16-year-old Boca Raton girl died early Saturday morning after losing control of a car and crashing into a tree, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office.

The incident happened at 3:24 a.m. in the 8000 block of Glades Road in Boca Raton.

Gabriella Sette Heiderick was driving a 2006 Kia Rio westbound on Glades Road, near the FLorida Turnpike access road. She lost control of the car after driving through a mild bend on the roadway. The car rotated off the roadway striking a tree with the driver's side door, the sheriff’s office said in a report.

The teen was pronounced dead at the scene. Officials say Gabriella was wearing a seat belt and there was no evidence that either drugs or alcohol played a part in the accident.

Speed appears to have been a factor in the crash, according to the report.

The Olympics Heights Community High School Choral Department issued the statement bellow:

This evening our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of Gabby Heiderick, a talented junior in the Olympic Heights Theatre Department who lost her life overnight. A "GoFundMe" page has been set up by her parents to help with the unexpected funeral expenses.

According to The Palm Beach Post, a candlelight vigil to remember Gabriella will be held at 9 p.m. Sunday on Glades Road, before Florida's Turnpike.
