Two people are now charged in connection with a fatal shooting Monday morning in Boca Raton.

On 4:04 a.m. Monday, Boca Raton police responded to a shooting in the 2800 block of NE 2nd Avenue.

Arriving officers found Thang Nguyen, 62, unconscious and bleeding and he later died at Delray Medical Center. The second gunshot victim, David Bartolino, 44, was treated and released from Delray Medical Center.

Bartolino told Boca Raton detectives that Nguyen and he got into an altercation with two subjects, later identified as Dylan Cirillo, 24, and Matthew Bauer, in the road near their home.

According to Cirillo, Nguyen pointed a gun at Bauer and him and told them repeatedly to get on the ground.

Cirillo told detectives he was carrying a firearm in his waistband, pulled it out and fired at Nguyen and Bartolino, striking both men.

Bartolino told detectives that after Nguyen was shot, he picked up Nguyen's gun and fired several rounds into the air, in an attempt to get help from neighbors.

Investigators said Cirillo does not have a license to carry a concealed firearm and was charged with carrying a concealed firearm without a license.

Police said Bartolino is a convicted felon and was charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
