BOCA RATON, Fla. (AP) — Four of five Republican candidates for U.S. Senate are scheduled to appear at a political forum in Boca Raton tonight.
The candidates are taking part Thursday evening in an event billed as "Florida Future U.S. Senate."
Rep. Ron DeSantis, Rep. David Jolly, Lt. Gov. Carlos Lopez-Cantera and defense contractor Todd Wilcox are set to attend. Developer Carlos Beruff's campaign announced Thursday morning he would not be able to attend due to a scheduling conflict. The event runs from 5:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m. The GOP primary is Aug. 30.
America First President Margi Helschien says more than 300 people have signed up. Helschien is a political consultant and former vice chair of the Palm Beach County Republican Party. America First is organizing the event.
