The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office is investigating seven different wheel thefts in unincorporated Boca Raton recently. All of them in open parking lots while the victims were asleep.

“It’s so unfair for someone to do that,” said 81-year-old Marina Bojazi, who was victimized in late April.

She had her 2005 Honda Civic parked in this handicapped spot, outside the assisted living facility when it happened to her rear passenger tire.

“Someone who has no conscience,” she said about whoever did this. “I’m sure the person who did it had a grandmother, has a mother who’s aging.”

In response, the sheriff’s office said they’re increasing their patrols at night near where the seven cars were disabled.

“I know it’s going to cause me a lot of problems. The thing is, I don’t know what to do. It’s a good thing I have some friends who are willing to help me,” she said.

The sheriff’s office recommends getting wheel locks and/or adding an alarm system.
