Thomas DeSernia, the CEO and Founder of SA Company, was born and raised in Boca Raton and said he wanted to do what he could to help the community.
"We had the supply chain ready to go and ramped up production and got the products ready to go and out the door, and whatever the cost is, it’s the cost of saving lives," said DeSernia. "So when the CDC said cloth masks could help people, we wanted to do our part. So it’s the least we could do for our community."
DeSernia has been running the outdoor lifestyle brand for the last six years.
SA Company plans to give out 100,000 of these face coverings over the next few weeks, and wants to host a drive at least once a week.
Boca Raton Councilman Andy Thomson said these are the companies that need to be remembered after Florida's sweeping "stay at home" order is lifted.
"The thing that is in the highest demand ever and they are looking to give them away," said Thomson. "People of Boca Raton need to remember this."
