Fifteen year old Azriel Wasser is living his dream, playing quarterback on his own backyard football field named after him.
Chopper 5 shows how the field fits perfectly behind his house. The Make-A-Wish foundation made Azriel's dream come true. The teenager was diagnosed with a brain tumor more than a decade ago.
Monday afternoon Azriel was surprised to see the green turf, the goal post and a scoreboard. He scored big with gifts from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Azriel told me he is appreciative. "Thank you so much. This was beyond anything I asked."
Norman Wedderburn with Make-A-Wish Southern Florida, said, "It's just so wonderful that we were able to get so many community partners to make it happen."
No doubt Azriel and his friends will spend a lot a time on Wasser field. His father Yehuda Wasser shared words of thanks. "It's an experience now and a joy and a nice opportunity in a great direction."
His mother, Batsheva Wasser said instead of hospital stays, having the football field will give him better dreams.
"To have this experience I'm hoping those memories will fade and these will be the memories he has from the experience as he goes on to a beautiful future."
His mother tells us Azriel has been cancer free for two years.
