BOCA RATON, Fla. — After more than a year of construction, the Camino Real Bridge in Boca Raton has reopened.
The bridge shut down in April 2018 for renovation work and to widen the bridge, allowing more room for walkers and bike riders.
It was scheduled to take about a year, but crews ran into additional work that needed to be completed, which delayed the project.
County and city officials cut the ribbon to the new $11 million bridge Tuesday morning.
The county says the contractor will be fined for not completing the job on time.
