BOCA RATON, Fla. -- The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office confirmed that missing teen diver, 15-year-old Skyler Hunt, has died.
The U.S. Coast Guard says a private boater found a missing teen diver Saturday during an aggressive search led by the Coast Guard.
Charter boat Captain Tony Coulter says he was leaving the Boca Inlet this afternoon, when he volunteered to help with the search. He was with a team of divers from the Palm Beach County Reef Research Team. Coulter says about 1.5 hours into the search, a diver he was with found the boy laying on a reef beneath more than 50 feet of water.
"One of the divers came up with the boy in his arms, we found the free diver," said Coulter. "Sad. It was a horrible situation and I was feeling lets get him on the boat and see what we can."
The Coast Guard says the boy was diving with some friends when he suddenly went missing about 2 miles north of the Boca Raton Inlet.
