The public is getting their first look at plans for a new condo in downtown Boca Raton.
ELAD National Properties submitted a proposal to the city for "Mizner 200" on Tuesday.
These plans replace an original proposal calling for a nearly 300ft condo building. Current city codes don't allow buildings that tall.
The new proposal calls for a nine-story, 100-foot building with room for 384 residential units. The condo building would be built at 210 SE Mizner Blvd.
Developers say the new proposal meets all of the city requirements.
Several newer buildings downtown have been granted variances in city requirements, making them a source of contention with groups who want to see the city's center grow more responsibly.
Architects for Mizner 200 say the building will be set back away from the road. It will include park-style landscaping and open space.
This building would replace Mizner on the Green; a development with 18 townhouses.
The project now goes through the approval process with city staff and council members.
