DIRTY DINING: Boca Raton restaurant temporarily closed for rodent droppings

BOCA RATON, Fla. — Firehouse Subs in Boca Raton was closed temporarily last week after health inspectors say they found rodent activity.

On June 11, state inspectors say rodent and lizard droppings were found inside the restaurant located at 1920 Northeast Fifth Avenue.

The reports said three dry droppings were found under the hand wash sink in the kitchen, and three dry dropping by the rear entrance. One lizard dropping was discovered by the rear entrance.

The manager then cleaned and sanitized the area with bleach.

Firehouse Subs reopened that same day.
