FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) -- A former U.S. Postal Service worker in Florida has been sentenced to a year of house arrest and probation after admitting she took bribes to deliver packages containing marijuana.
A federal judge imposed the relatively lenient sentence on 54-year-old Evelyn Price after finding she had no prior criminal record, mentored children at local churches and did other good community works.
Price faced up to 18 months in prison.
Price would then retrieve them and then give them to "Steve."
"Steve" was never arrested. When Price was caught last year, investigators seized packages containing about 20 pounds of marijuana.
